Laura turned 30 and made some big changes – including losing 2st.

Big Changes At Thirty
I turned 30 and decided that I wanted a new look and to make some changes to my life. I had very little energy, was really stressed in my job and decided to do something about it all. I dyed my hair, had my eyes lasered, signed up for a 100km walk for charity, set up my own company and lost weight!
Weight Watchers Works
I had put on 4st during my second pregnancy and was finding the last 2st really tough to lose. I realised I needed some help. I had followed Weight Watchers Online before having my first daughter so knew it worked for me and decided to subscribe again. Being able to eat what I liked as long as I tracked it really appealed to me. The online element also meant it fitted easily around my lifestyle.
Eating Habits Overhauled
I changed my eating habits to include lots more fruit and vegetables and began preparing many more meals from scratch. I found the recipes on the website invaluable for ideas and inspiration. As a mum with two young children, preparation time was extremely limited so I would use the Find & Explore section of Plan Manager to find main meals with preparation times of 30 minutes or less – it's brilliant!
Culinary Skills
My husband is a really good chef but he had to change his cooking habits aswell. He used to add so much oil and butter to dishes – he even fed Raymond Blanc a deep fried Mars bar when we appeared on BBC2’s The Restaurant! My weight loss with Weight Watchers has impressed him so much that he has joined too. Friends and family can’t believe that I eat what I do and still lose weight.
Moving More
Alongside improving my eating habits I also started getting more active. I began going to the gym – starting with simple routines at first which I built up to longer times and harder workouts. And I also signed up for Trailwalker - a 100km walk in 30 hrs to raise money for Oxfam and the Ghurkas. I found it really valuable to have a goal and I couldn’t believe how many activity POINTS® values I earned from all my training walks!
Online Tools
As well as Find & Explore, Recipe Builder was another of my favourite Online Tools. I loved taking old family favourite recipes and updating them to make them to lower the POINTS® values. The POINTS® Tracker and Weight Tracker were also essential. I weighed myself once a week and logged it every week – regardless of whether it was good or bad!
Keeping Motivated
The walk was a great motivation to staying on track - as was the thought of getting back into a pair of size 12 jeans – I never thought that would happen! I did have my ‘naughty’ days but would just make up for it the rest of the week. My husband also following Weight Watchers Online helped enormously and we motivated each other.
Health Benefits
Losing weight has dramatically improved my energy levels and my health. I suffer from Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovaries and the pain has greatly reduced since I’ve been smaller.
Ambitions Fulfilled
Since losing weight I have set up my own company - Baby Ladies (babyladies.com) – a baby and pregnancy advice service for busy Mums. I’ve also fitted back into a size 12! I have realised how much your weight affects your health and confidence. Now I’ve achieved my weight loss goal I feel I can take on the world!
